HB 466 • REP. HORTON
- would prohibit any public school personnel in Louisiana from initiating any discussion of gender identity or sexual orientation during school hours in a manner that deviates from curriculum approved and developed by the State of Louisiana; prohibits public school personnel from using a pronoun to refer to or address a student that differs from the student’s sex as reflected on their birth certificate without written parental consent; and prohibits any public school from requiring any employee to use a pronoun for any person that differs from that person’s sex as reflected on their birth certificate if doing so is contrary to the employee’s religious or moral convictions. The next step is a hearing by the Senate Education Committee. Email Senate Education Committee Members. Tell them to urgently schedule the legislation for a committee hearing and to vote YES for HB 466, Rep. Horton's bill to keep sexuality, gender identity and inappropriate conversations out of our schools.
