There is a complete juxtaposition between Biblical principals, and the modern humanistic ones, morphing, and directing similar juxtaposition and conflict between the founding American principals, and modern, American humanism.
What am I saying? I believe that God IS the original, all knowing, all powerful, everlasting, eternal source of TRUTH, LOVE, WISDOM, COMPASSION, GRACE and MERCY.
I also believe that in His infinite wisdom, grace, and mercy, He gave us all the ability to know the difference between truth and error, fact and fiction, love and hate, integrity and foolishness. We have been given the tools to discern, and the WORD of GOD, as a reference, and standard. What we do with them is our choice. In his love for us, He allows us to choose.
In Ecclesiastes, we read the Word of God, through the writings of King Solomon, on wisdom. This book of the Bible takes us through the reasonings of what God reveals as possibly the wisest of all men, (Jesus being excluded from this comparison, for obvious reasons.) Solomon lacked for nothing. He was free to choose as his will directed, yet his wisdom required careful scrutiny of the benefits, and consequences of every choice.
These musings are recorded in the Bible for our benefit, to help us in our deliberation of the choices afforded to us by life. We can choose wisely, or we can follow fools. We can follow the wisdom of our Lord, or we can be led by men.
Our nation was founded primarily by men, and women who sought to submit to the Word of God. They recognized the wealth of knowledge, and wisdom in God’s commandments, and salvation through our Lord Jesus. They made the conscious decision to risk life and limb to secure God’s providence for themselves, and their families. Likewise, they built, from the ground up, a system of government designed to preserve the liberty and these choices for their progeny. We are among their progeny, and it is our turn to preserve these choices for ours. We may, or may not risk life and limb in our efforts to preserve this nation, but we should seriously consider our duty in this matter. Many in our military, and many in law enforcement have placed their lives on the line for the purpose of its preservation.
The major difference between the wisdom, and compassion of God, and the wisdom, and compassion of mankind, is liberty. What is liberty? It is the ability, and permission, (from God,) to choose wisely, or foolishly. God, and godly people, give the right of choice to others, They hope that they will choose wisely, and attempt to assist others in their decision making through wise council. The wisdom of man compels them to assert their own lusts as, “wisdom,” for others, as well as themselves. They cannot abide others that resist their demands. They have such confidence in their own imagination, that they often insist on conformation. If this tactic is not successful, they might aspire to positions of influence, politics, in academia, the media, education, entertainment, or other influential positions in order to assert their, “wisdom,” as, “the correct path.” They then demonize, or even criminalize those that resist.
I see no confusion in which is the correct path. If we cancel those that disagree with us, we should consider just who’s side we are on.
“But if it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve… but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” Joshua 24:15.
