Dear Senator Cassidy,
In your last email to me, you said,
“The group of bipartisan senators proposed commonsense legislation to protect America’s children, keep our schools safe, and reduce the threat of violence across our country. I joined these negotiations to ensure any agreement addressed illegal gun violence while upholding due process and protecting law-abiding Americans’ Second Amendment rights.”
Does the shooting over the July 4th weekend qualify as the kind of increased security, and reduction of violence that you intended to secure by helping the Democrats get their anti 2nd Amendment bill passed into law?
Let me guess, you would say that your new gun control law has not had time to go into effect, and thereby could have no impact on this, “mass shooting.”
I would then say to you that this crime happened in Illinois, where these laws that you have helped to impose on the nation, have been in effect for decades. Illinois is a perfect laboratory to test these unconstitutional laws. They have been imposed, and strengthened over the course of time, and as the restriction are increased, the crime also increases. This, in some circles, is called a clue.
Criminals are not concerned with laws, and law abiding citizens, who’s legal right to self protection has been impaired, are likely to be unable to protect themselves, and others.
The fact is, as your new law, (which I will now call the, “Cassidy Crime Bill,” on all of my social media, and my SubStack,) will increase violent gun crimes in much of the nation, just as similar laws have been doing in many of our Democrat ruled cities, and states for decades.
Can you tell me what is, “commonsense,” about legislation that can’t possibly approach delivering on its claims? How can we expect this law to, “reduce the threat of violence across our country,” when everywhere these laws are enacted, the opposite results are experienced?
I beg you to drop your insane hatred for President Trump, exit your alliance with the Democrats, and begin listening to your constituents.
I assure you that if you don’t act on this advice soon, I will expend every possible effort to find a primary candidate to replace you on the 2026 ballot, and if that fails, I will vote for your Democrat opponent in the general.
If you are going to vote like a Democrat, I’d prefer to start with a new Democrat, that doesn’t have the insider connections that you apparently have.
God bless you, and give you wisdom, Dave
