What has greater authority over our society, the Bible, or the Constitution?
To answer this question, we must resist the urge to consult “experts.” We don’t need to know the opinions of others, the US Constitution was constructed so that the average citizens could know the wishes of the founders on all issues of national government.
We must consult the Constitution of we are to know.
The preamble to the Constitution reads;
“We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
This set the purpose of the document. “When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them…”
This section shows us that the laws of nature and nature’s God are the standard to which our Constitution subjects itself, setting the Bible as the highest authority.
