IS IT TRUSTING GOD TO IGNORE DANGER?
Why are the prophets Isaiah, and Jeremiah included in GOD’s WORD?
I’ve noticed that when Christians post flowery, encouraging “prophecies” of the mighty love, grace, and mercy of our Lord toward his church, they are “liked,” and passed around Facebook. They often spread like wildfire, yet when someone tries to alert these same Christians that they are metaphorically standing on the edge of a cliff, ignoring the danger, and the dark forces that are intent on startling them in an attempt to destroy them, they are ignored. These christians seem unconcerned refusing to admit the precarious situation, they want only to point to the awesome grace and mercy of our God.
Do we forget that while God did indeed deliver Israel, only two of the Israelites, of the many that Moses led out of Egypt, entered their “promised land.”
Shouldn’t we consider whether we are metaphorically among those few modern christians represented by Joshua and Kaleb, or if we fall among the many who died in the wilderness because they refused to acknowledge the “whole” Word of God, as HE revealed it?
Unbelief always produces results, and the Bible is filled with examples of people that thought they knew better than God. People that thought that because they were loved by God would suffer no harm, because of His long-suffering. In these biblical examples, often the proclaimer of God’s warnings was treated as awful unbelievers, while the deceived insisted that God’s will is as they believed. Time, and again, these men of God were backed up by the judgement of God. Those that relied on their perception that God would overlook their rejection of truth, and grant grace in His provision of their lusts, and safety, were confounded.
We are surrounded by those that think they are honoring God by refusing to acknowledge that lying liars have overtaken the most prestigious positions in government, education, academia, entertainment, and media. Many of these “believers” appease the dastardly rejecters of God’s, and join with them in condemnation of those that recognize the signs of the times. They ignore them, or ridicule them, persecuting them, and even condemning some of them to criminal prosecution.
Are we “woke,” or awake?
God bless you, Dave
