This phrase is used to critique fights between husbands and wives, school fights, political riots, and other situations, and often it applies, but I’m sure you can recognize times and situations that it could never apply.
Imagine that you are a high school student. All you want to do is perform your student duties effectively so you can please your teacher, your parents, and progress to the next level.
However, there is another student, or a group of students, who have no such desire. They have little aspiration toward learning what it takes to succeed in our society. They like fighting, and especially with those who are smaller, weaker, and less motivated to fight.
Imagine that you choose not to fight them, believing that “it takes two to tango.”
What do you think would happen?
I have some experience in these situations as I weighed less than 98 lbs. until I was in my 20s. Bullies were sure they could whip me and get a three-day “vacation” from class. All they needed to do was provoke me into a fight, and they would be sure to enjoy such “benefits.”
If I tried to ignore them, expecting to deny them what they hoped for, instead of deterring them from their objective, they became angry and inflicted more emotional and physical pain on me.
Eventually, there was a fight because it really only takes one motivated side to make a fight. If their “opponent” refuses to engage, they seal their own defeat.
This is true of emotional fights, wars, boxing matches, UFC fights, and political fights.
If we fail to become motivated to successfully fight against political Marxists, we will seal the eventual defeat of the fairest, freest, and finest nation in history. They want a fight, and they intend to win. Our refusal to engage is not a deterrent; it motivates their engagement.
Calling all patriots!!
Let’s get busy winning in the war on liberty. Marxists should be afraid.
Are they?
God bless you, Dave
