Dear Mark,
I am a faithful listener to your radio podcast, and a subscriber to Levin TV.
I love your attention to how our constitution should be applied to our civil society. After my time reading the Bible each morning, I listen to your podcast every day.
I am often disturbed by your constant reference to “capitalism,” as the seemingly most important economic ingredient to liberty. I don’t believe that it is really capitalism that you are referring to. I believe that it is the free market.
You seem to use the term capitalism in place of free market. Free market capitalism is indeed the most important economic institution to prosperity, but is it the free market, or the use of capital that is the foundation upon which this phenomenon rests? I believe that the book, “Thank God for Bitcoin,” reveals important truths about this question in the first seven chapters. Truths that are known by intelligent Americans, but have been obscured in plain sight for decades.
I have just finished reading it, and while I believe that this book is meant to influence the reader to trust in bitcoin, I am not taking that bait. The first 7 chapters is a must read education on the subject of money. The chapter headings are as follows:
Understanding Money
The History of Money
Inflation
The Problems With Fiat Money
Money And Politics
The Moral Consequences of Corrupt Money
How Bad Money Corrupts the Church
Bitcoin, a Moral Money
The Redemption of Money
I strongly recommend reading this book, and also recommend reading my SubStack on “Inflation.”
I would love to discuss this subject with you, and would gladly call in if I thought I knew how I could get through to you. The problem is, your show does not air live in my market.
God bless you, Dave
