This to challenge the latest redistricting map produced by the recent Louisiana special session to redraw the districts of our state, by “order” of Judge Shelley Disc and Governor Jeff Landry.
My legislator is one of the most conservative members of our legislaturee.
My question is, what does that mean? What is a conservative, what, is conservative legislation?
I aim not to be critical, but the word “conservative” has a meaning. That meaning is important.
What I mean when I say or hear “conservative,” is one who intends to conserve constitutional government. They strive to adhere to the constraints of our Constitution, revere and support its dictates. A conservative’s first legislative priority is to preserve to the people of this great nation the God given rights protected to them by our Constitution.
Their loyalties should be first the Lord, then to the US Constitution, to the Constitution of their state, and then to the letter and spirit of the law that proceeds out of the workings of those Constitutions.
I politely challenge anyone to cite the article, statute, or amendment that authorizes any judge, at any level, to order any state legislature how to adjust the districting of their state.
Coan you cite the article, statute, or amendment that requires any Governor to follow the order of any judge regarding redistricting. Citing existing president is illegitimate, “The Dresd Scott decision” was judicial president for many decades, yet it was clearly unconstitutional and later overturned.
Please Cite the article, statute, or amendment authorizing any judge to draw district lines in any state.
Governor DeSantis and the Florida legislature have been conducting a clinic as to how to defy the unconstitutional dictates of federal courts, and lately, Governor Abbott has joined n this clinic.
Many of the citizens of Louisiana voted for “conservative” legislators, and Governor Landry, hoping that they will follow in this restorative vein, making Louisiana the next Florida, and bringing the rule of law, and prosperity into our state.
So far, I am disappointed.
If we are conservative citizens of Louisiana, we must be conserving. And what is it that we should be conserving?
The Constitution of the United States and the Constitution of Louisiana. The most recent redistricting map is an abomination. The fact that our legislature produced it is abominable and that our “conservative” Governor signed it, much less drove the creation of it, is pathetic.
I don’t believe there is anything that our legislators or Governor Landry can do to correct it at this point. It will take an act of God to restore the will of the people to our state and federal government at this point. Prayer is what is needed to block the Democrat Party from gaining the single fragment of federal political power that they currently lack and proceed in crushing the American society with their demonic agenda.
I hope that our leaders will repent of this miscarriage of political wisdom, and join me in prayer that the Lord will atone for this mistake.
I hold many of our legislators in great respect. Some have served well in many aspects throughout their tenure. I hope they will return to this behavior, but it will take more courage than they displayed in the special session.
If Governor Landry wanted help undermining the conservative voters of our state in favor of a partisan, Marxist, political judge, it was our legislators’ duty to point out the need for them to preserve and protect the rights of the majority of voters in our state.
Political power is a zero-sum-gain. If you give governing power to the minority, you will be denying it to the majority.
All elections are based on the principle of majority rule, to one degree or another. For the instrumentalities of state governments to intentionally remove majority control from the legitimate majority, and confer it upon minority factions is unconstitutional, maybe even anti-constitutional.
I hope my readers have, or will listen to the State of Freedom episodes that that address this subject;
112 “Recap and Review of Special Session on Redistricting”
113 “Redistricting Conversation w/Paul Hurd”
They clearly lay out the constitutional or conservative route that should have been taken.
Be assured that when legislators act constitutionally, and when they uphold the rights of their constituents, we will praise them, and we hope to heap loads of praise upon them in the following years, but we will likewise challenge them to be more mindful of what the Constitution says, and does not say.
If anyone is not sure of the constitutional path to conservative government on any issue, it is wise to consult the Constitution itself, and if that is not clarifying enough, there are constitutionalist experts at your disposal, who might be honored to help us to understand the proper path.
House Speaker Mike Johnson made it clear that there was no need for our legislature to heed the dictate of Judge Dick.
Elected Democrats seek not to debate what is good for America, they don’t just believe their vision for America’s future is superior, they hatethose who love God and revere the US Constitution. They hate the America we love and are viciously attaining the power to destroy it.
Once they are able to control all of the levers of the federal government, they will begin nullifying the power of state governments. There are voluminous examples of this fact, open borders, sanctuary states and cities, lawsuits against governors and states to undermine their authorities. We will either succumb to their evil plot, or we will effectively fight against it.
I believe our new governor and legislature made a massive mistake, but if we can face the facts and become as determined to protect our state, our nation, and our neighbors’ future, as the Democrats are to destroying them, we can approach our Lord in humility, and He can restore our land.
II CH 7:14 “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
