For quite some time now I’ve been puzzled by a point that I’ve heard Denis Prager say repeatedly. He says that, “leftism ruins everything it touches,” then he separates “liberalism” from this criticism. This delineation perplexes me, as I see that the power that leftists use to reign their tyranny upon societies is GIVEN to them by LIBERALS. I have wondered how it can be that liberals bear “no” responsibility for leftism? How is it possible that liberals are not also leftists? This is a conundrum that has plagued my reasoning.
This morning, while listening to the, “Wallbuilders Live,” podcast, I heard Brad Stine make a similar statement. He recognized a very definite separation between liberalism and leftism. He then stated that Leftism is a religion, and that Leftists feel a compunction toward proselytism to their beliefs.
As I pondered these concepts, I admit, I can see their point, and this, might at least partially explain, how so many “liberals” insist that they are compassionate. That they are the ones that believe in “freedom of speech,” and that they are, “patriots,” while they vote for, and support intolerant, violent, and stubborn atheists, who hate the American founders, and the US Constitution, leftists. They simply don’t recognize that those that have ascended to the heights of leadership in political activism are Leftists. They believe it when they are told that these are “liberals” too. They are invested it the political debate of liberals, against conservatives. They believe that conservatives want to inhibit the perfection of our nation through the , “living, and breathing,” constitution.
Because they assume that they know what the constitution should say, they don’t expend the effort to find out what it actually says. They are unaware, and unconcerned about Article V, (the constitutions provision for amending the constitution.) This provision makes it possible for the Constitution to remain pertinent, and authoritative, and thus, a “living, and breathing document.” They oppose the actual predicates, and statutes of our governing document, (or standard,) in favor of the use of extra-constitutional orders by members of the Executive Branch, and tyrannical judgements by an activist Supreme Court.
Though many liberals profess Christianity, and agree with the right of every person to freedom of speech, because they disagree with some of the beliefs of conservatives, they are willing to align with those who hate God, hate our founders and the framers of our Constitution, and hate the ability for others to oppose them, in word, or deed.
This is just a fact of life. It is confusing, and it is unfortunate, but it is the way it is. Do we love the Lord? He promised that his disciples would be persecuted, and we should expect to be hated by “the world.” As believers, we must love the unloveable, and speak the truth in love, no matter who opposes, and persecutes us for it.
God bless you, Dave
