We often look forward to opportunities within our family, and our occupation, often for our own enjoyment. We can have strong emotions leading up to some event, or adventure, but what about those times when we come to the realization that we have blown the chance to be a part of something great, something that would have been a true blessing, to others, and ourselves?
Are our jobs secure, our properties, are our families secure, and are they blessed? Are we doing all we can do to bring blessings to our home, our community, our state, and our nation?
I realize that nothing in life is fully secure, but are we doing our best in service to our Lord, and our nation? If we do not rise up, and take an active part in the preservation of America, who do we expect to do it for us? Is there any guarantee that anyone else will cherish our families, and our circumstances more than we do?
I am continually encouraged by a few constitution loving members of Congress, state, and local political leaders, and I was, and am inspired by the thousands who have showed up at Trump rallies. Unfortunately, it sometimes appears that many of these “Trump fans” look toward him as a messiah. Are our political leaders really obsessed with our welfare, or is it more likely that they are obsessed with plundering us? I fear that too often, it is the later.
As much as I appreciated the policies of the Trump Administration, he was not our savior. He made many awful personnel choice, and in addition, I am not sure that releasing loads of federal criminals from prison was a good idea, even if Senator Mike Lee agreed with it. I think that policy actions are either good, or bad, on their own merit. For instance, some of those released through the, “ First Step Act,” have gone on to commit heinous, and violent crimes. I don’t believe that the victims of these crimes, and their families, are comforted by compassion for these criminals. The fact that these felons were no longer in prison was of no benefit to America, much less their victims.
I think that whereas America was founded as a Christian nation, Americans should be more than acquainted with both their Bible, and their Constitution, and should be active in the promotion, and implementation of both. Truth, and justice only benefit us if they are acted upon.
Do you, or do you know Americans who take the freedoms that we now enjoy for granted? Is it fair that some of us simply focus on our own pursuits, expecting others to protect these God given liberties for us?
Charlie Kirk likes to say, and I paraphrase, the most important thing we can do is to bring salvation to others. The second most important is to protect the ability to do the most important thing. America was built on the principals of liberty, and the first Amendment begins stipulating the importance of religious freedom, then secondly, the freedom of speech.
How can we expect these freedoms to continue if we allow others to undermine them, denying equal justice under the law?
This is a time for action. America is under relentless assault from within our borders, as well as from without. Our president, and those that have been recruited to serve in his administration clearly intend to destroy our great nation. Will you be an asset in this endeavor, or an opponent? Maybe you are choosing to watch the fight, as though it was an athletic contest?
When someone sets your house on fire, it is not time for observation. It is not wise to, “watch, and see what happens,” it is time to get involved. We must call for help, and offer whatever support is needed. Are we ready to get engaged in civic engagement, and political activism?
I certainly hope so.
God bless you, Dave
