Media personalities, academia, and Politicians like Beto O’Rourke persist in defaming the NRA, directing the blame for all gun violence toward the NRA, and its members. People like Beto prey on the ignorance of people that have never read the Declaration of Independence, or the US Constitution, or have ever owned a firearm. They peddle fear, and viciously insult anyone who opposes them.
I am a Lifetime member of the NRA. I became a member because they are the most effective advocate for the 2nd Amendment. The NRA faithfully represents me, and millions of members like me, concerning this one issue. People who threaten no one, or would ever threaten anyone. People who love the nation that our Constitution’s framers envisioned, and established for themselves and their progeny.
The NRA is funded completely by volunteer donations, mostly from its members. Each contributor has chosen to specifically donate to the cause of protecting the 2nd Amendment of the US Constitution. The 2nd Amendment is the only issue that the NRA addresses. A member of Congress can be a total marxist on any other issue, but if they protect the 2nd Amendment, the NRA will support them. This can be bad, but it is what it is, and there is no doubt that the NRA is supporting the constitutional, 2nd Amendment.
The NRA’s critics speak of it as though it is a slush fund, controlled by mega-millionaires abusing the trust of its members for their own personal gain. Anyone who is a member, or is remotely aware of what they do, knows that this is a lie.
Before the 2020 Presidential election, the NRA used these funds to provide 28.5 million in political contributions for promotion of 2nd Amendment supporting candidates, a cause that its members are 100% in favor of, and have specifically intended for their donations to contribute to. How do I know that this is true? Because I am a member of the NRA.

Other than the fact that the NRA is a tax exempt organization, I have found no evidence that the organization receives any federal benefits.
Every time we experience a violent gun incident, politicians, and members of academia, and the media rush out to accuse the NRA, and its members of having responsibility for the crime. They blame the 2nd Amendment, and lawful gun owners of creating an environment where these crimes can happen. They rarely blame the prosecutors who have failed to pursue criminal penalties for passed crimes, or judges who have exercised leniency in the sentencing of convicted violent criminals. Instead, they accuse the law abiding lovers of our nation as founded.
I have a question for anyone who doubts my assertions about the NRA’s culpability in shooting crimes. How many gun crimes have been committed in America, in the year 2022, by an NRA member? I believe that the answer is very near zero. How many gun crimes have been committed in the 22nd century, in America, by NRA members? Once again, I believe that the answer is a very, very low number. How many gun crimes have been committed in America, in the history of the NRA, by an NRA member?
I confess that I don’t know the answer, and I’m not sure where you might find the answer, except maybe in the book, “More Guns Less Crime,” by John Lott.

However, as much as the media, and Democrats hate the NRA, wouldn’t it be certain that they would highlight NRA membership in coverage of shooting crimes if there was any possibility of NRA involvement? When was the last time you heard a report that the perpetrator of a gun crime was an active NRA member? Ok, I’m waiting? You should be able to cite hundreds of incidences, if there was any validity to this absurd claim.
Planned Parenthood, on the other hand, receives $500 million from our Federal government annually, and spent 45 million in political contributions before the 2020 elections, to help defeat candidates that I prefer. That means that my tax dollars, extracted from me, (and others like me,) were given to Planned Parenthood, (an organization that I abhor,) and without my consent, for the commission of what I believe to be felonies, (the murder of unborn infants.)

Your protestations must be factual if you expect me to consider them, but I assure you that I will accept facts.
