Do we really believe God, are we convinced that His word is truth, or are we more concerned with the opinions of others?
Proverbs 16:18 says, “Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.” This is either truth, or fiction. If we believe that it is true, it should direct our thoughts, and our actions.
With this in mind, let’s think about “Pride Month.” Isn’t it interesting that it’s promoters have chosen this word to encapsulate the celebration of all things sexual debauchery?
Romans 1:20-22 says that, “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” Who are without excuse? Is it not those that profess themselves to be wise? Those that are vain in their own imaginations? Maybe those that condone prideful debauchery in the name of compassion?
“For this reason God gave them up to dishonorable passions. For their women exchanged natural relations for those that are contrary to nature; and the men likewise gave up natural relations with women and were consumed with passion for one another, men committing shameless acts with men and receiving in themselves the due penalty for their error.” Romans 1:26-27.
Do we believe that these are true statements, or is our mind seared with a hot iron?
I refuse to accept the degradation of my nation, and the English language, surrendering this great society, inherited from my forefathers. Jesus paid the price for my sin, and I am thankful. I choose to love God, and my neighbors, even the unlovable, but that doesn’t mean that I will join them in rebellion against truth, and my Lord. It doesn’t mean that I will forsake wisdom for a seared conscience, and a reprobate mind.
We must love the homosexual, and the transexual, not their debauchery, but the vessel which was created in the image of God. We must have compassion to seek their deliverance, not the proliferation of their vain imaginations.
“Claiming to be wise, they became fools.” Romans 1:22. Whether we will be wise, or fools is the choice of each of us. “… But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord .” Joshua 24:15.
God bless you, Dave
