Some have challenged me on my suggestion that we should take back the rainbow from the Perverts that have attempted to steal it for their symbol of sexual depravity.
They have pointed out that homosexuals have been so effective at reconditioning the public to associate the rainbow with perverted sexual behavior, that it would be impossible to reclaim it. I get the impression that they believe that I’m suggesting that we should try to forcibly snatch it back from them.
I mean no such thing. Since the Garden of Eden, the evil one has been using deception to pervert God’s creation. He reorders words, redefines words, and simply arranges, and rearranges words into lies for the purpose of offending his creator. His arrogance, and hubris knows no bounds, but are we to agree with it?
When I was a child there was a cartoon on television called The Flintstones. The show’s theme song ended with the line, “we’ll have a gay old time.” No one thought that the Flintstones were homosexuals. There were no sexual connotations of any kind in the episodes of this cartoon. By the time I was in high school, most of my friends were hesitant to use the word gay in any other way than to refer to homosexual behavior.
The forces of evil had successfully stolen this word, and redirected it for their purposes, to normalize abhorrent behavior, and demonize those that recognize it for the destructive force that it is.
I have no special affection for the word, gay. They can have it. God was well aware of homosexuality, and spoke of it critically, thousands of years ago, in the Bible.
I am aware of no usage of, “gay,” in the Bible, but that is not true of the rainbow. God used it to signify, and memorialize the promise to mankind that He would never again destroy the earth by flood. He said that he place the bow in the sky to remind people of that promise.
While I don’t suggest physical violence over the rainbow, I do suggest that we cease to cede ground to the enemy over the use of words, and symbols created, and used by God.
When I refer to homosexuals, and homosexual behavior, I don’t use the word, “gay.” I also don’t use it to refer to enjoyable times, or enjoyable activities. I have surrendered that word to reprobates because it has no spiritual, or scriptural significance to me. They can have it. I don’t suggest that we defy homosexuals’ use of it, or to try to convince them to refrain from its use, I simply don’t partake.
With the rainbow, I likewise don’t insult homosexuals when they refer to, or use the rainbow for a symbol of depravity, I am simply resolute that I don’t do the same. I choose not to relinquish the use of the word, or the symbol to the whims of reprobates. I honor the rainbow, and the word that represents it, as well as the colors that make it up as God intended for me to, and I will leave those that seek to pervert it to the judgement of God.
The rainbow is beautiful. The promises of God are wonderful, and to remember them, and honor them is my duty and my joy. I encourage others to do the same, especially during the month of June, “Sanctity of Life Month,” as declared by Mississippi’s governor in 2022.
God bless you, Dave
Nicely put, Dave. When we refuse to play along, the jargon machine becomes isolated to the cult it is.
