Again I ask, “do we know how this nation, the United States of America became a thing?”
Is it possible that all of those that believed in the vision that would become the United States of America came to this vision independently? Was there no collaboration, cooperation, or planning involved? Did these people just magically come together in solidarity, with no discussion, and debate of what was possible, what was beneficial, what was godly, and what would build a virtuous civic society?
There were no TV or radio stations, telephones, email, social media, or other methods of mass communication available to these great patriots. News papers, the most effective method of the period for the mass dissemination of thoughts, was controlled by a few. These men needed to be in the same place in order to discuss, and debate these weighty issues, but discuss, and debate they did.
Where might they have held these discussions? Might it have been churches, meeting halls, and pubs? Did they not consider the matter of governance important enough to discuss it publicly, whenever, and wherever possible? I Believe that the answer is self-evident. Why, because an estimated 30% of those English colonists who adamantly opposed the tyranny of the crown were motivated to revolt, and this 30% hailed from across the population of American geography.
This minority of colonists, who were like minded on liberty, were able to organize a revolt against the largest, most powerful empire on the face of the earth, at the time.
How might they have achieved this enormous feat? I believe that it is well documented that it was largely through the use of pamphlets. Many pamphleteers arose to provide a method of revealing, and discussing the ideals on which our magnificent nation might be founded, among those, Thomas Paine, James Otis, and John Dickerson, (https://www.hup.harvard.edu/catalog.php?isbn=9780674652507)
Today, our pamphlets are called Social Media, and talk radio. We have the tools at hand to discuss, and debate the matters of the preservation of this great nation through the deliberate, thoughtful, precise, civil, and wise use of social media.
We must be ever aware that the tyrannical masters of social media seek to use this medium to crush liberty, to persecute the lovers of God, and liberty, and reign ever increasing bondage on the individual. Therefore we must be deliberate in our choice of words, and phrases. Our “overlords,” use algorithms to seek and destroy those that try to use these media to combat them, therefore wisdom dictates that we should seek out alternative ways to express our points. Rather than using the terms that we hear in the main stream media, or popular phrases in FB, or Twitter posts, we can think of alternative ways of expressing these concepts. These algorithms are not reading our posts, they are scanning them. They have no intelligence to decipher our thoughts.
Another, even more important thing, is that we, HIT THE SHARE BUTTON, whenever we read a thoughtful, intelligent, pro-American, or pro-liberty post, on whatever media site we are accessing. This takes the censorship baton out of the hand of the tyrants. We can then copy the post, and paste it into any, and all other applications that we use. This is how our adversaries operate, how the insanity of Marxist leftists goes “viral.”
We need to be faithful to use the tactics of the marxist left against them. Make them live by their own rules, (which is one of Saul Alinsky’s, “Rules for Radicals.)
God bless you, Dave
