WHAT IS AN AMERICAN’S BASIC CIVIC DUTY?
WHAT IS A CHRISTIAN’S CIVIC DUTY BEFORE GOD?
Are these questions that you ask yourself? As you read this, do you truly consider whether they require an answer? Are we curious? How important to us is it that we are faithful to know, and obey God’s commands, the ultimate, “law of the land,” and the final earthly authority in the United States of America, the US Constitution?
I don’t ask these questions lightly. We are all subject to the judgement of an all-powerful, faithful God. An all-knowing, all-wise, just creator, with the ability to forgive our transgressions, bring wrath upon our head, or cause us to exact terminal judgment upon our own lives. There are examples of each of these realities in the Bible.
It is incumbent upon us to humble ourselves, first to the standards of God, then, as American citizens, to the standards of the US Constitution. No President, Governor, Senator, Representative, or even Supreme Court Justice, is above the constitution, or authorized to dictate the, “LAW,” to us. We are not subject to any of these entities, except where they are faithfully subjected to the constitutional process.
The United States of America is not a dictatorship, and it is not an oligarchy. No individual, of group of individuals are given the constitutional authority to, “rule,” over our civic society. Instead, they are all subject, or accountable to the same laws that we all are subject to, and the arbiter of those laws are, “We the people.”
Who is it that is to hold them accountable to those laws? Is it not you and me? Will we throw our hands into the air in frustration, will we surrender to the tyranny of those who have undermined our Constitution, and use it as a cudgel, or weapon against us, in order to enforce a corrupt doctrine, and exact judgement on those who resist?
If we are to obey God’s commandments, and our laws, must we not have the integrity, the fortitude, even the audacity to insist on fidelity to our US Constitution? What is our individual roll in this patriotism? What is our individual duty to promote and defend it? How can we inspire Christian faithfulness to the American governing documents? Is it pleasing to God as we submit to the devilish Marxism being forced upon the American citizenry? Shall we go quietly into the tyranny of submission, without so much as a whimper, reluctantly, or maybe even enthusiastically obeying our self-appointed over-lords of, “American Marxism?”
I believe that it is time for a fight! Not a physical battle, not with guns and clubs, (like ANTIFA and BLM,) but with humility, and with constitutional fidelity, requiring that our constitution is enforced, even upon those that were elected, or appointed to, “promote and defend it”.
Will you join me? Will you seek out, in your prayers, in your reading, in your self-education, to find what is true, good, and faithful? To be willing to ask God to reveal to you your calling in this matter, to purpose to obey, and be willing to suffer the consequences?
We do not have the Bible, and Christianity, (for that matter,) because of people that refused to seek the knowledge of God and His will. We don’t have this nation because of people who did as they were told. We were born into the lap of liberty, the freest, most beneficent, and prospeerous nation in the history of the world, because of those that set their heart to do what was right, simply because it is right. They demanded liberty and justice as a God given right, and were willing to be punished for it in order to further truth, justice, and the American way.
“Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.”
(Dan 3:16-18 KJV)
Did these three Hebrews obey the law? Did they obey God? Where did they place their trust? Go and do likewise.
God bless you, Dave
