I find it amazing how many Americans complain and warn about the “evils” of social media. Also amazing is how many of these people make a large portion of their income by way of social media platforms.
I can identify with these sentiments on some level but it is important to understand that the uses of tools rarely encapsulate the full worth of that tool. Social media is simply a resource to be used in the pursuit of something greater.
Some use these platforms in pursuit of criminal activities and should be roundly criticized for it. Some use them to undermine the foundations of godly governance and should be criticized and resisted.
On the other hand, social media also gives opportunities, unmatched in the past, to further the movement of the Word of God, the edification of brethren and patriots to shore up the foundations of the Church and our nation.
Complainers are not servants of the Living God, or patriots. They are a plague on these institutions. They are tools of evil, aimed at the destruction of a free society, and ultimately, the kingdom of God.
Those who want to be effective in the worship of God and furtherance of the Gospel Can use these utilities and platforms through the blessing and with the help of our Lord.
The earth and EVERYTHING IN IT are the Lord’s and it is right to use them to glorify Him and further godliness.
I believe that we are responsible for our actions, on a societal level and on a spiritual level. If we are mesmerized by these platforms and allow them to conquer us, drawing us into selfish pursuits of vulgar entertainment, simply voicing complaints, or indulging in vain arguments, we are guilty of abusing these important and powerful tools.
Instead, we can devote our use of them to the edification of the Church, the restoration of our republic, and the fortification of our families.
Only we can make that choice for ourselves, and that choice will determine the ultimate value of social media in our lives.
God bless you, Dave
