Throughout the churches of America, we are taught that Christians are to obey the dictates of the elected politicians and their bureaucracies. Church leaders refer to Romans chapter 13 as God’s commandment to obediently serve contemporary politicians.
How many Americans have the wisdom to challenge them based on the US Constitution and the Bible?
As Bible believers, how should we address this advice?
First of all, how many of these churchgoers even know what is written in the Bible? Do they believe what they believe because they understand what God conveyed in Romans chapter 13, or are they trusting in the spiritual authority and commandments of those that they have been taught by?
How can we respect the words of men, even those in the pulpit, if we are ignorant of actual scripture and the Holy Spirit’s teachings?
We either believe God, or we believe men. If we don’t study the Bible faithfully, we will not have the knowledge or wisdom to confront the teachings of men who falsely interpret, or reject the true Word of God.
Who is the American Sovereign? Where can we go to get the answer?
The Preamble to our Constitution begins, “We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”
What is a preamble, and what is the significance of this one?
Miriam-Webster defines it thusly;
1: especially : the introductory part of a constitution or statute that usually states the reasons for and intent of the law
2: an introductory fact or circumstance
especially : one indicating what is to follow
The preamble is not separate from the Constitution, it is an integral part of the Constitution. It bears the same weight as the rest of the Constitution and is meant to set the context in which we are to understand the rest of the document.
The very first three words of this important document are, “We the people.”
It does not say “we the founders,“ or, “we the politicians,” or “we the rulers,” or “we the elected,” or “we the judges,” or even, “we the bureaucrats.”
The American Constitution opens with the declaration of, by, and for the American people, that the standards and practices within the founding document of our republic are representative of the people of that republic. There is no higher earthly authority.
Ignorance of this fact within the public body, the Christian church, and especially church leadership is astounding, misleading, and destructive to biblical literacy and Americans’ religious and civic duty.
What our government does is contingent upon our contributions as the, “We the People of the United States.” If we choose not to afford this oversight and blindly follow the rulership of a depraved congregation of self-centered elites, we suffer the fruits of their depravity.
As Adam did in the Garden of Eden, we will allow the prisoner of our authority to reign supreme over the needs of the American society and undermine the will of God in civil matters.
It is time for every Bible-believer to subject themselves to the standards of that Bible, and the US Constitution, rejecting the tyranny of the self-appointed rulership of our nation.
Many read James 4:7-8 as though it says,
“Therefore praise God. Ignore the devil and he will flee from you.
Sing worship songs to God and He will fight for you. Allow God to cleanse your hands, you sinners; and let your your hearts be purified for you, you double-minded.”
That is not what it says. James 4:7-8 really says,
“Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded.”
Biblical Christianity is not merely a state of being, it is a state of action. Our worldview determines our actions, and if they are inspired and directed by the Bible, they will bring forth courageous, ethical action, which will produce wise results.
Many Christians believe that if they confess Jesus as Lord, believing that He was raised from the dead by God, their life becomes easy. All of their troubles are taken away.
Blindly following the advice of imposters at pulpits, or those who blindly follow imposters produces far less equitable results.
(You may have noticed my use of the word, “equitable.” This use may make you uncomfortable, but I am not concerned with your discomfort. My concern is to reject the atheist-directed, Marxist redefinition of words to the detriment of truth, wisdom, and true equity.)
The Bible was given to mankind for the benefit of society as well as to draw us closer to our Heavenly Father. These two aspects of Christianity are to work in symphony, as synergistic ingredients to our earthly existence.
Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, (better known as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego,) were subjects of Israel, a nation enslaved to a pagan king as judgment for their rejection of God’s governance, yet they recognized the need to reject the commandments of mere men, (even the enslaving king,) in favor of fidelity to godly commandments.
Christians of today and citizens of the United States of America need to understand that it is not righteous to obey the “laws” of a despotic tyranny. We must realize that we are biblically called upon to reject the atheistic despotism of Marxists regardless of the cost to our comfort.
Pastors of today’s Christianity must become courageous. They must lead their congregations to be courageous. Christianity is not likely to become easy in the face of despotism, it is more likely to become harder and more costly.
If believers continue to ignore the need for resistance, they will continue to embolden the Marxist forces against them, and ensure that the cost of liberty will become greater and greater.
I Peter 5:5-9
“Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”
