THE WAR ON WORDS (Part 1)
What is language, what are, “words,” and what is, “THE WORD?” God bless you, Dave
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1:1
What does this mean to you? We are told that this is referring to the Trinity. I am not here to challenge this assertion, or refute it. The point of my challenge is to look deeper. Is this the only discernible point?
We read first, that the, “word,” was in the beginning. What does that mean? Why does it not say, In the beginning was God, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God?
Could it be that God was stressing the importance of the word, “word?” If so, why might He be stressing it?
Later, in the book of Genesis, chapter eleven, we read about the tower of Babel. God separated the languages of the people to obstruct their attempts to ascend to the heavens. Let’s think about this, if the corruption of the ability to communicate worked for the obstruction of the endeavors of these people in Genesis, why would not this tactic work in opposition to Christianity? Why wouldn’t it be effective in destroying the goals of modern American patriots. Would it not leave free people vulnerable to the attack of tyrannical Marxists?
As we look further into this verse we may notice that in addition to the apparent importance of, “the WORD,” signified by its usage firstly, it is stated that THE WORD, or words existed before anyone but God was around to use them. Wouldn’t this further signify the importance of words?
If words are this powerful, this significant, this important, should we not be concerned with protecting our language, words, and with efforts to destroy their proper use?
I think that the answer is self-evident, and I believe that this is exactly why the assault on our language, and its words is so relentless by those that characterize their efforts as compassionate, while undermining the very basis for liberty, the Word of God, and the US Constitution.
God bless you, Dave
