USING LEVERAGE
Are we afraid to use the leverage our Constitution provides?
What is leverage? Anyone that is mechanically inclined knows about using physical leverage. Business people know how to use market leverage, and politicians know how to use political leverage.
Keeping this in mind while considering what happened in Congress from election day 2022, till early last Saturday morning, we should notice that finally conservative House representatives used the leverage needed to effectively represent their constituents.
The fact that while a strong faction of House Republicans supported this power grab on behalf of citizens, twenty were willing to go to bat for “the cause.” According to Chip Roy, this was facilitated by the 5 initial holdouts who publicly proclaimed that they would never vote for Kevin McCarthy.
Those men are, Andy Biggs, Matt Rosendale, Ralph Norman, Bob Goode, and Matt Gaetz.
For some reason, many of the famous conservatives devoted much time and energy trying to convince these five, and those that joined them, to concede the only leverage left to the conservative cause of the 2023-24 Congressional session.
How did we get to such a dire situation? How is it that Marxists, “liberals,” and “progressives,” always move their regressive agendas forward, whether they hold the majority, or are in the minority?
It is because they never lose sight of their goals. They are tenacious in their pursuit of power, and they use every fiber of leverage available to them for this purpose, at all times.
When they are in the majority, they deny ANY efforts by their opponents to frustrate their objectives. When they do not hold the majority, they vote as an immovable block to frustrate the slightest efforts to advance constitutional restoration. They don’t hesitate to use any method, whether lawful and legal or otherwise.
Those that have been specifically chosen to fight against these enemies of liberty often fail to recognize the stakes of this game. They extend respect, and honor to those that have already revealed that they are not worthy of respect or honor.
In doing so, they forsake the trust of those that have rallied to their support and surrendered what power, and influence has been given to them by their constituents through the instrumentalities of the U.S. and states’ Constitutions. They effectively throw in the towel to the least merciful political machine on this planet.
Ignorance of this fact is epidemic within the Republican Party, and since the 2022 election cycle, only these few constitutional activists have held ground that Mitch McConnell, Chuck Schumer, Nancy Pelosi, and their cohorts sought to exploit.
We all know in our bones that the majority of the American people are fed up with the destructive direction of our nation. Respect for our nation by her allies, enemies, and even its own citizens is likely at an all-time low.
Our economy is being savaged daily. The citizens’ wealth is being taxed at an increasingly alarming rate, while that revenue is being used for nefarious purposes, to allow illegal aliens, “legal” residence, (“illegal aliens” is the US Constitution’s official term for them.)
American parents are being persecuted and prosecuted as domestic terrorists by the FBI, and DOJ, while one of the most popular Presidents in modern American history, and his every family member and associate, are having the vast resources of the Federal Government exhausted in the pursuit of their destruction.
It is time to fight fire with fire, and these pivotal members of the 2023 House Republicans have thrown down the gauntlet, and every patriotic American should be appreciative of their efforts. This does not mean that we American citizens are free to find our place on the couch, and settle in to watch our favorite NFL contest, or enjoy, “The View,” confident in the protection of our, “knights in shining armor.”
The USA was designed to be a nation of laws that apply to EVERYONE. It is to have the government of the people to be by the people, and for the people, not the powerful, or the rich, or the influential, or the elite.
Our legislators are not supposed to be professional politicians, they are to be citizen legislators, who “serve” the state, and their neighbors for a time, then return to active roles in our culture, and economy.
These twenty Republican Representatives have put their heads on the proverbial chopping block. They have charged the giant and won the first round of battle. We need to provide moral, and effective support to them in the matter of their accomplishments.
Let’s think about why this battle was so important. It is a matter of leverage.
Our republican Senators defied the will of their constituents in favor of Mitch McConnell. While every Republican Senatorial candidate campaigned on restricting the Democrat agenda, they rushed to appoint McConnell to another term, authorizing him to decide the rules, and direction of the Republican representation in the Senate.
Then, after it was determined that Republicans had taken a razor-thin majority control in the US House, Senate Republicans voted in large part to help the Democrats undermine the ability of the new Republican House to set the fiscal agenda for over nine months. I believe this to be traitorous.
I believe that had the Republicans in the House not fought for control over the Speaker’s seat, McCarthy would have effectively retained Nancy Pelosi’s tyrannical rulership of the chamber, joining McConnell in deflection to the Marxists in Congress. I believe that the situation was just this dire.
You are free to disagree, but I challenge you to explain what I have misstated.
Let us commit to helping our House representatives to defeat their opponents in Congress. Let’s make sure they know that we have their support in this battle, and help them to know of our concerns. They are not mind readers. It will take sober thought, and virtue of biblical proportions to turn this ship around. Let’s get started.
Congratulations 2023-24 House Republicans! Important win. Now that the pre-season is over, LET’S PLAY BALL!
God bless you, Dave
