If we love America just because we are wealthy, or comfortable, or at peace, do we really love America?
Do we love America because of the Declaration of Independence, and our Constitution? Do we revere the sacrifices made by our predecessors to secure a nation where we are free to worship as our hearts direct us, to pursue our dreams, and teach our children biblical principals?
If we desire these things for ourselves, yet are unconcerned whether these freedoms are also available for our neighbors, do we really love our nation?
This nation was not founded upon selfishness. Though every human is bound to struggle with selfish tendencies, is it truly those who choose to subdue this inclination that represent the nature of our founders, and the framers of our constitution? Those that pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor to secure this mighty republic for their progeny?
We are told by many revisionist historians that our founders were Slave owners, and thus were despicable people. Isn’t it true that only a few states were in favor of preserving slavery, (South Carolina, and Georgia,) even from our nation’s inception? Isn’t it also true that only a minority of the citizens of these “slave states” actually owned slaves, and is it not also true that some of these slave owners were active in trying to end slavery?
Can we ignore these historical facts, and still take an active part in the preservation of this Christian, democratic republic?
Can we ignore that the Republican Party was founded to abolish slavery?
That the slave owning Democrats in the south separated from the Union to establish a nation of slavery, and that slavery was a global reality?
Once the slave owning Confederacy surrendered to the USA, “reconstruction” was opposed by many Democrats, who eventually halted it, began segregation, Jim Crow, and established the Ku Klux Klan as a militia wing of the Democrat Party.
Should we forget these facts?
No Democrat today is guilty of these atrocities, but with these attributes as core features of their party, shouldn’t everyone seriously consider them, and honestly observe the current atrocities being committed against our nation, and our liberties, as we enter the voting booth?
Our motives, and our actions will be seen by a righteous God who has given us Devine instructions.
Will we submit to His will, or will we seek government’s favor, and free goodies?
Will we vote for those who’s number one priority is the “right” for women to murder their babies while in their wombs?
Those who are fine with hundreds of vicious attacks on crisis pregnancy centers, and those that volunteer to support women with crisis pregnancies?
Those who gladly accept the FBI’s intimidation, and harassment of pro-life proponents?
God bless you, Dave
