What is truth? What does it mean to be honest?
How do you know if the facts that you believe are truth?
Are you responsible to know the answer to these questions?
What is truth?
The Bible says, in John 17:17 ESV, “Sanctify them in the truth; YOUR WORD, is truth,” (Does this not refer to GOD”S WORD.) What does this mean to you? Do you believe it? If you do not believe this, do you really believe the Bible? Can you really be a Christian if you do not believe that the Bible IS TRUTH?
Only we are able to answer these questions for ourselves. God is the only other person that knows the answer to these questions. Any other person that thinks that they can answer them on your behalf, is deceived.
What does it mean to be honest?
Is it really honest to defame, or assist in the defamation of someone else, or their beliefs, on the basis that we respect the source of their defamation?
Is not the very basis and foundation of honesty, the ability, and willingness to seek, and accept facts, as they are discovered, and verified? How can we verify truth, or facts, if we are unwilling to consider evidence that refutes our pre-determined opinion, or the opinions of those we choose to respect?
How do we know if the facts that we believe are truth?
Should we not have an open mind? Shouldn’t we be willing to allow evidence to stand on its own credibility, or is it right to allow others to deem certain sources credible, and other sources incredible, without challenge? Is it wise to allow others to think for us? What does it say about our integrity that we continue to respect the judgement of those who are continually proven to be lying? Are we innocent if we just ignore evidence that exposes these lies?
Are we responsible to know the answer to these questions?
Each of us must answer this for ourself. If we are confident in the Holy Scripture, and have meekness to God’s word, we likely feel a requirement to eschew our own pride, and seek the wisdom of God through honesty, and integrity.
I believe that it is far more important to be correct than to thought of as correct by popular people. There were many Israelites that were convinced that Jesus was a heretic. They shouted, “crucify him, crucify him!” Don’t you believe that they considered themselves wise, and righteous, in condemning Jesus?
Three days, and three nights later, God Almighty confirmed THE TRUTH. He said, by the resurrection of Jesus, that, “this is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased.” What happened to those that had shouted, (in the majority,) “crucify him, crucify him?” The truth is, they either repented, and confessed Jesus is Lord, or they continued in their condemnation, for they were condemned already, and rejected the only path to salvation.
We are accountable to God for what, and who we believe. Should we not take this seriously?
We have been told, by many, by the media, by Democrats, by popular opinion, that the thousands of people that have gathered in certain cities to violently assault people, to burn, and loot buildings, and businesses, are, “peaceful protesters.” Their concerns of the demise of certain career criminals, are so important that it warrants this chaos, and violence. It warrants the de-funding of police, and reformation of our justice system.
These people have called the perpetrators of CHOP, who violently conquered a portion of Seattle, the murderers of many peace officers, looters, arsons and thugs, “peaceful protesters,” (without evidence, I might add.)
We are told that the Trump voters, who traveled to Washington DC for the Trump valley on Jan 6th, were, “insurrectionists.” We are expected to believe that unarmed citizens were commanded by their leader, “Donald Trump,” to over-through the US Government, when He encouraged them to visit the capital and, “peacefully, and patriotically,” inform their Congress of their desire for a transparent election investigation.
Let me reiterate that. Armed, violent rioters that defy laws, and commit felonies are, Peaceful protesters,” while unarmed citizens that fail to believe the 2020 elections were legitimate are, “insurrectionists.” Based on what? Is there any substantiation for these statements?
We are told that Republicans are responsible for slavery, segregation, the KKK, and, “Jim Crow laws,” while all historical evidence reveals that the Democrat Party was responsible for supporting the furtherance of slavery. The Democrat Party was responsible for segregation, the KKK was a product of, and enforcement arm of the Democrat Party. It was the Democrat Party that was responsible for, “Jim Crow laws.” Democrats penned the bills that became laws when ratified by Democrat Presidents. Laws that sought to oppress the American Negro vote.
We are told that
God bless you, Dave
