Is it the politician, the political activist, or the apathetic citizen?
I am alarmed by how many liberty lovers, and Christians have told me that they don’t vote because the deck is stacked. They believe that Bible believing, patriotic Americans have no righteous choices at the ballot box with a chance of being elected. Some believe that even if their preferred candidates were to be elected, they would be overcome by greed, and a thirst for power.
I agree that election fraud is an art form for some, and a far too many who appear righteous while campaigning turn out to be corruptible, yet are these truly reasons to forsake the most important instrument of self government?
Many say something like, “They stole the 2020 elections, and they will do it again. Why vote when the game is rigged?”
I agree that often our elections are rigged. I am convinced that the 2020 Presidential election has been proven to have been rigged. The presidency was stolen from President Trump, and the millions of Americans that voted for him, the evidence is overwhelming. The constant onslaught against Donald Trump, his family, as well as anyone who supports him is so blatant, and vicious, as to confirm our suspicions.
However, I can’t understand how such a realization could lead to apathy. How in the world could this belief provoke anyone to surrender their duty, and the privilege of their vote, to these tyrannical despots? These are the substance of motivation to me. I refuse to go down without a fight.
Some have told me that they believe God has given up on America, because Americans have rejected God. Americans have banned Him from the public square, including courts of law, and the public school system, and therefore God has left our nation a victim to the poisoned fruit of unrighteousness.
On the surface, these opinions seem reasonable, but are we granted the privilege to make such a judgement of our brethren? Doesn’t God reserve that judgement for himself?
Daily I hear about Christians, and patriots who stand against these forces, often facing the threat of great physical, and legal peril to themselves and their families.
Do we really believe that this goes unnoticed by our gracious God?
Abraham secured a promise from God that if their were ten righteous people in Sodom, it would not be destroyed, are we to believe that there are not ten righteous in all of America?
Some believe that this occurrence in Genesis was simply to preserve the Christ line, to facilitate the promised messiah, and now that Jesus has come, fulfilled the law, was crucified, and raised from the dead, the rules have changed. God has no such commitment to the preservation of our nation.
I am certainly not a prophet, but I doubt this belief should have any bearing on our degree of commitment toward the preservation of our nation.
In II Corinthians, 5:20, we are called, “ambassadors for Christ.” Does this ambassadorship pertain only to spiritual matters? Does an ambassador have any less duty to the interests of his nation, even if some, or many of its constituents are not worthy? Aren’t we bound by duty to work toward the preservation of the nation we have inherited.
The United States of America is not mentioned by name in the Bible. What this means is not certain. We are all able to ponder the significance of this fact, but there is no doubt that God knew about the USA when he revealed scripture to, “holy men of God, (who) spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.” II Peter 1:21. The USA was no mystery to the God of all creation, even from before the foundation of the world.
Why our nation seems not to appear in scripture is a mystery to me, but of no consequence to my discipleship in the gospel, or my duty to love God with all of my heart, soul, mind, and strength, and my neighbor as myself.
Doesn’t this mean that the society to which I, and my neighbor are parties, is worthy of my effort toward its preservation?
Does the fulfillment of, “love for our neighbor,” include a commitment to the preservation of the nation of their birth, the rule of law, and future generations of Americans.
While I respect the right of each person to determine the answers to these questions for themselves, I also acknowledge a responsibility to address it honestly, and hold fast to what I believe is the truth, “holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.” Titus 1:9
I recognize that Titus 1:9 is referring to The Word Of God, but truth is truth, whether it appears in scripture, or not. All scripture is truth, and all truth is represented in scripture, though not all truth is lined out, word for word in the Bible.
That’s why we are told in 2 Timothy 2:15, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”
We are meant to labor to see the world in which we live through the filter of the revelation in scripture. Truth is to guide our understanding of all that we witness, and experience.
Elections are an integral part of American governance. We are free to forsake the duty to participate, but that does not relieve us of the duty.
Our God has not promised that liberty would be easy. He has not said that we would find richness in following the crowd, or relying upon others. He has challenged us to choose the narrow road, where righteousness, and liberty are found.
Freedom is not free, it is a result of work, of commitment, and effort.
We should vote because we are given the right. If we believe that the process has been corrupted, shouldn’t we fight to reveal evidence of the fraud? If we are not able, shouldn’t we be supportive of those that are. Surrender is never victory. It may be effective to surrender a battle in the effort to win a war, but surrendering the war is final.
Shouldn’t we struggle to restore integrity to our elections? Shouldn’t we support those who work toward election integrity, and shouldn’t we do our part to elect honorable, liberty-loving candidates, even in spite of those who seek to pervert our elections for their own gain?
Remember, the fewer legitimate votes are cast, the fewer fraudulent votes are needed to overthrow an election. Shouldn’t we make it as hard as possible for enemies of liberty to steal our elections?
God bless you, Dave
